COMING ABOARD
COMING ABOARD There is only one secret to being a success with RE/MAX. You must have a burning desire and willingness to work. Make a commitment. Make it happen. We have found from past experience that the loss of business agents might experience by changing companies is not due to the change but rather to the involuntary procrastination of business from when they decided to make a change, to the time of change itself. Following is a list of hints to help you make a smooth transition to the RE/MAX system:
1. Do not wait to begin your new work until you are completely out of business with the old. One listing or one buyer is all you need to launch your RE/MAX career.
2. Sign your RE/MAX Independent Contractor Agreement. This will enable you to order your business cards, signs and announcements, which typically require two weeks for delivery. We have temporary cards available until yours arrive.
3. Make an appointment with a professional photographer and have at least three photographs made of you for press releases.
4. While your announcement letter is being prepared, take one photo to a print shop and have it screened to approximately 1 ¾” to 2 ½”. Also order buff colored envelopes printed with your name and home return address - Order as many as you need to send out to your past clients. We have found the plain envelope has a greater chance of being opened and read than an envelope with a company logo. Have your screened photo printed with your letter on logo stationery.
5. Organize your mailing list. This should include past clients, prospects, friends, relatives, attorneys, banks, title companies and fellow associates.
6. When your letters are ready, hand-sign each and complete the envelopes for mailing the same day you transfer to RE/MAX.
7. Draft a formal letter of resignation. Be polite and appreciative of all your former company has done for you. Make an appointment with your manager and give them the letter, if possible. Be brief and to the point. Have all items belonging to the company ready to give back, i.e.: pins, policy books, keys, listing presentation books, yard and open house signs. Since you have a dated written resignation, your previous employer will notify the Florida Real Estate Commission immediately. We will provide you with the official transfer form for FREC. The minute you tell the Broker you have resigned, you will probably be told to leave.
8. Make an appointment with your RE/MAX Broker to go over
new office procedures. Prepare a press release and provide a photo.
We will place it in the area newspaper.
YOU ARE OFF AND RUNNING!
9. During the first 30 days call everyone on your mailing list. You will inevitably get several leads.
10. The Broker/Owner is always available to the Sales Associates for consultation, advice and friendship.
GOOD LUCK! BE PERSISTENT AND PATIENT, AND SUCCESS WILL FOLLOW!
